Who it's for: UK shoppers who’d rather fund Christmas in advance than meet it on a January card bill — monthly, four-weekly, fortnightly or weekly pay all handled.
About this template
Every other Christmas planner tells you what you’ve already spent. This one tells you what to put aside so it’s paid for before you shop.
You set the amount and the date, and it works out exactly what to save each month, each payday and each week to get there in time, then lays the months out one by one. Can’t manage that much? The reality-check block shows where you’d actually land and the shortfall — in October, while you can still choose what comes off the list.
Your gift list has guardrails (per-person variance, an over-budget threshold you set, and a warning if you’ve spent on someone you never budgeted for). Thirty of the costs people always forget are pre-loaded — cards, stamps, wrapping, the food-shop uplift, the work night out, Secret Santa, teacher gifts. Cards and post are tracked properly: who gets one, whether it’s written, and whether it’s actually left the house.
Honest about the UK bits: bank-holiday dates from gov.uk, and the last-posting-dates page is deliberately blank because Royal Mail hadn’t published 2026’s when this was built — rather than print dates it can’t stand behind, those cells are yours to fill, with last year’s shown clearly labelled. Free updates when they’re published.
Three worked examples were hand-calculated on paper, then re-derived cell-by-cell by an independent engine: 279 of 279 checks pass, shown inside the file. It opens alive with a full worked example and amber “type over these” call-outs.
Self-directed budgeting tool, general information, not financial advice — please don’t borrow to hit a number on a spreadsheet.
